What Fiberglass Fabric Coatings Can Add
A coating changes how a fiberglass fabric performs in the final application. PTFE, silicone, polyurethane, neoprene and other systems can improve resistance to vapor, weathering, oil, water, chemicals, abrasion, flexural fatigue and ultraviolet exposure.
The coating must be selected together with the base cloth, operating temperature, coating side, flexibility, adhesion and fabrication method. A higher temperature rating for the base fabric does not automatically mean every coating is suitable at the same temperature.
Share the service environment and required finished construction so the base fabric and coating can be reviewed together.
